60 Seconds With Safelite is a regular blog feature highlighting outstanding employees throughout Safelite AutoGlass. This month, we spoke with Henry, who works with us in Chicago repairing and replacing auto glass.

Name? Henry M.

What do you do for Safelite? I’ve been an auto glass technician in the Chicago market since March 2010.

How did you get into the field? I’ve always had an automotive technical background. I was a mechanic at one point, so working around a car wasn’t a stretch. I worked as a claims adjuster in the worker’s compensation field after, until I was referred to Safelite by a friend.

What’s the most interesting experience you’ve had here at Safelite? I would have to say the Safelite Best of Belron competition. It’s an incredible experience, meeting other technicians and watching these talented people do what they do best. I was awarded best windshield repair at the 2014 regional level and placed runner-up at the local level this year.

What’s your dream car? 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. I actually performed a replacement on one not too long ago. The owner let me pull the car into the shop, which was great.

What does being a technician mean to you? I hold a large responsibility of ensuring the customer’s service is done the correct way, that they are happy, safe, and satisfied. The quality has to be beyond top notch, because that’s who we are as a company.
