Honoring National Safety Month

New safety measures reinforce our commitment to protecting your policyholders.

Safety has always been the cornerstone of not just our purpose, but our process. Now, as we join the rest of the country in observing National Safety Month as established by the National Safety Council, the nation’s leading nonprofit safety advocate, we want to call out additional measures we put into place this spring.

First, Safelite remains open. As defined by the Department of Homeland Security as well as state and municipal restrictions, our services have been deemed essential and safety related. We help keep first responders, health care workers and others who deliver necessary goods and critical day-to-day services safe on the road. As long as this decision holds, we are committed to keeping our stores and support operations open.

Second, our commitment to safety has never been stronger. Effective April 20, 2020, we made slight modifications in our process and added a thorough pre- and post-service cleaning to every vehicle we service to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

In addition to adhering to social distancing guidelines, we:

  • Provide customer-facing associates with guidance for making and sanitizing CDC-compliant masks 
  • Allow for a contact-free service experience
  • Minimize vehicle touchpoints during service
  • Offer a smile and a thumbs up, rather than a handshake
  • Waive customer electronic signature for pre-inspection and service completion
  • Perform a vehicle sanitization service upon completion of their work
