Safelite AutoGlass CEO Honored with Medical Mutual 2014 Pillar Award for Community Service
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Jan. 3, 2014 – Safelite AutoGlass® President & CEO Tom Feeney was recognized with a 2014 Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Community Service in the www.sbnonline.com/columbus-editions/6-columbus-editions/27816-safelite-autoglass-giving-arm-is-committed-to-charity#.UsYT8PRDuqg. This was the 4th consecutive year Safelite has been recognized with an award at the program.
The Pillar Awards, sponsored by Medical Mutual and Smart Business Columbus, honor companies whose charitable works contribute to the central Ohio region and demonstrate a commitment to philanthropy. All 2014 Pillar Award winners and their good deeds were featured in the www.sbnonline.com/columbus-editions/6-columbus-editions/27815-medical-mutual-2014-pillar-awards-for-community-service.
Recently, Safelite leaders introduced a new way to formalize our “giving back” approach: the 1-2-3 philosophy.
1. Safelite Group donates one percent of its annual trading profit to the Safelite AutoGlass Foundation.
2. Safelite encourages its employees to give two percent of their time to volunteer in their community. That includes 16 hours of paid time off the company allows every employee for volunteer work in addition to 24 hours of their personal time for a total of 40 hours per employee, which equals two percent of the average hours in a “work year.”
3. Giving Back is one of three areas of social responsibility that Safelite embraces. The other two focus areas are ethics and the environment.
