Safelite AutoGlass Foundation celebrates commitment to enriching communities at Charity Classic golf tournament

10-17-2019

Columbus, Ohio — The Safelite AutoGlass® Foundation celebrated its ninth annual Charity Classic on Oct. 8-9, 2019.

Safelite leaders, business partners and charity representatives came together at the New Albany Country Club to enjoy dinner and golf while raising money for the Foundation’s Impact Grant Program. The program provides non-budgeted gifts of up to $25,000 that allow a charitable organization to make a significant impact in its community.

Since 2011, the Charity Classic has helped the Foundation generate and distribute more than $3 million through 140 impact grants. This year, the event raised a record-breaking $1.5 million.

“The strong connection we have with our community represents far more than simply a donation,” said Tom Feeney, Safelite Group President and CEO. “It represents a legacy in partnering together in what has become a dynamic and moving wave of change. Together, we are making a positive impact in our local communities here and across the country.”

In 2018, the Foundation awarded impact grants to 50 organizations in central Ohio and more than 120 across the country. With the help of Safelite’s generous business partners and internal fundraisers, the Foundation is able to provide these grants in addition to its gift-giving throughout the year.

In central Ohio, M.A.S.H. Pantry, which provides food, clothing and other resources to veterans and military families, and YWCA, one of the oldest and largest organizations dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women, are two of the charities newly touched by these generous grants. They join the growing list of grant recipients across the nation, such as Lifecare Alliance, the NNEMAP Food Pantry, Homeless Families Foundation, Community for All People and Ronald McDonald House Charities.

“As Safelite continues to grow in our business, we also continue to grow in our giving. It’s a tremendous point of pride for our company to be able to support the organizations who work so tirelessly to serve the greater good,” Feeney said.
