ADAS is a family of advanced safety systems designed to work together to assist in the reduction of collisions and injuries.
Why is ADAS important?
These safety systems are designed to work together to automate and enhance vehicle safety by alerting the driver to potential problems and avoiding collisions – they can aid, warn and assist.
How does ADAS impact the windshield?
What is ADAS recalibration?
ADAS recalibration is a process that occurs after the windshield and camera sensors have been reinstalled to ensure proper operation of the safety system. Different manufacturers require either static or dynamic process, and for some vehicles, both are required.
Static recalibration requires a specific target image mounted on a fixture in front of the vehicle during the recalibration process. Takes 45 minutes to an hour.
Dynamic recalibration requires driving the vehicle at a set speed on well-marked roads to recalibrate the camera system. Takes 30 minutes to an hour.Safelite AutoGlass has built a team of experts to prepare for the future of ADAS camera recalibration.
