Safelite AutoGlass Donates $20,000 to Ronald McDonald House Cleveland

By Safelite // Mar 27, 2017

A caring heart and community involvement are important to leaders at Safelite AutoGlass, which holds an annual Charity Golf Classic to raise money for charitable organizations. Through this event, Safelite AutoGlass is able to donate $20,000 to 10 separate charities, spread across each of its 10 regions. That’s in addition to $175,000 distributed to each of the 10 regions each year for local leaders to support area charitable organizations of their choice.

Our Mid-Ohio region selected the newly expanded Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland to receive its $20,000 donation.

Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland supports families whose children receive treatment at area medical centers by providing a home-like environment and essential resources and services. It serves more than 100,000 individuals through its 55-room House, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at four area medical centers, and online resource for Ohio families, RedTreehouse.org.

Families staying at the House are asked to give $20 dollars a night to stay, which leaves $60 a night to be raised per family to operate the House. The Impact Grant from Safelite AutoGlass bridges the gap and will cover two-thirds of it for an entire year! This allows other fundraising to go toward improvements at the House.

After presenting the check to Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland’s Executive Director Craig Wilson and Director of Marketing & Outreach Missy Toms, the Safelite AutoGlass team spent the evening volunteering time to make dinner for the families at the house. Since it was around Halloween, they also filled Halloween bags for the kids.

Safelite AutoGlass is no stranger around the Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland. This was the second meal they made for families, and the team frequently participates in fundraisers throughout the year whether it be “Night at the Races,” “Celebrity Golf Pro-Ams,” or the “Wine, Women, and Shoes” gala.

“I personally am proud of the generosity of the Safelite AutoGlass team,” said Jason M, the district leader for Safelite AutoGlass in the Cleveland market. “When you see what these families are coping with, it is extremely uplifting to be able to help them out.”
