Safelite AutoGlass donates $18,500 to A Kid Again through OSU Kicks for Kids program
COLUMBUS, OH – On Nov. 29, 2017, Safelite AutoGlass®, the nation’s largest provider of vehicle glass repair and replacement services, donated $18,500 to A Kid Again through the “Kicks for Kids” program with The Ohio State University. A Kid Again is a central Ohio charitable organization that fully funds special adventures for children with life threatening illnesses and their families.
In addition to the partnership with A Kid Again, Safelite is a sponsor of OSU athletics, which was the inspiration behind the inaugural “Kicks for Kids” program. For every extra point or field goal made by the Buckeyes, Safelite AutoGlass donated $500 to “Kicks For Kids.”
Christina Pletnewski, vice president of marketing for Safelite AutoGlass shared that giving back is in the DNA of the company and their associates. “It’s rewarding to support a great organization like A Kid Again,” she said. “Helping families take a break from illness to build happy memories together is very meaningful.”
Pletnewski joined Safelite Senior Corporate Counsel Brian DiMasi, who serves as vice chair on the A Kid Again board of directors, to present the $18,500 check to A Kid Again CEO Oyauma Garrison at Value City Arena in The Jerome Schottenstein Center.
“If it weren’t for Safelite AutoGlass and their associates, A Kid Again would not be what we are today,” Garrison said. “Through Safelite’s passionate service, advocacy, and generous investments of nearly $600,000 over the years, we’ve been able to provide wonderful adventures for our kids and families.”
The funds will help A Kid Again give families they serve the opportunity to create shared experiences and unforgettable memories during an otherwise difficult time in their lives. For 20+ years, the organization has served nearly 207,000 people.
