Safelite Launches Enhanced Windshield Repair Resin
Testing indicates it’s the strongest and longest-lasting windshield repair solution on the market
COLUMBUS, Ohio – July 11, 2011 Safelite AutoGlass®, the nation’s largest vehicle glass repair and replacement company, has launched an enhanced windshield repair solution. Integrating a primer to better prep the surface and a superior resin to fill the chip, Safelite AutoGlass’ new system bonds better and dries stronger than other widely used resins, giving customers a longer lasting repair.
An independent and renowned testing laboratory that has conducted automotive testing for more than 100 years put Safelite’s exclusive windshield repair resin through rigorous laboratory testing along with resins used by other vehicle glass companies. Using an Accelerated Weathering Tester, the experts analyzed the performance of 18 of the world’s leading repair resins and the six most common resins used in the United States. Safelite AutoGlass’ new windshield repair resin outperformed every other widely used resin on the market.
This means that Safelite AutoGlass® customers will be back on the road with the strongest and longest-lasting repair on the market, as well as these additional advantages over other resins available in the market:
• Higher adhesion for a more durable repair
• Better aging for a visually superior repair
• Less risk of shrinkage causing re-appearance of chips
• Better color stability, meaning less risk of yellowing
“Drivers need to know most chips and cracks up to six inches can be repaired – a service that has many benefits including preserving the windshield’s structural integrity & factory seal,” said Tom Feeney, president and CEO of Safelite AutoGlass®. “Introducing the new resin is just one more way we are committed to giving customers the best service in the industry.”
Customers from private vehicle owners to fleet owners worldwide will benefit from the immediate advanced adhesion and the durability of the repair without having to make unnecessary and costly replacements of windshields.
