Safelite Opens Store in Chula Vista, California

CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Aug. 31, 2011 Safelite AutoGlass®, the nation’s leading provider of vehicle glass repair and replacement services, will open a shop in Chula Vista approximately September 14 in an effort to better serve area customers with same-day, in-shop service.

Safelite AutoGlass® has traditionally provided this community mobile service, sending technicians to the customer’s home or office and will continue to do so. However, the new store, located at 1415 Broadway (ZIP: 91911) is located in an automotive related mall and will increase accessibility to parts. The new 4,500 square-foot facility will house approximately 1,000 pieces of glass.

The shop also features three service bays and a welcoming waiting room, with amenities including cable TV and Wi-Fi, making a much better experience for customers.

The addition of this southern San Diego store is a part of Safelite’s plan to expand and improve service in southern California. Since 2009, Safelite® has developed a number of initiatives to provide unrivaled customer service, technical quality, and same-day service for southern California customers. Safelite’s growth in the Southwest U.S. includes:
•opening its second-largest distribution center in Ontario, Calif., in 2009
•opening its third national contact center in Phoenix, Ariz., in 2010
•opening 9 other new locations throughout Southern California in 2011
•relocating 4 existing Southern California locations to improve customer visibility and waiting areas, glass storage, and employee amenities in 2011

The Safelite® store will be managed by Karen Ortega and will have an initial staff of six technicians with the goal of hiring more in the near future.

Safelite® customers in Chula Vista and other southern San Diego communities including National City, Imperial Beach, and San Yisidro can receive a quote or schedule service 24/7 at safelite.com or by calling 1-800-800-ASAP (2727). Both in-shop and mobile vehicle glass service appointments are available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
