Review by Chris B. on 29 Jul 2026review stating First time using Safelite
Initially convenient, the technician came to my residence and had my new windshield installed in short order but had issues recalibrating the sensors. I wasn't disappointed because I understand how trick this can be and told the technician I didn't mind taking it to the shop. I received a call the same day with and appointment time. Over the next couple of days I received several texts reminding me about the appointment and to be there on time. I also received a phone call the day before from an associate reminding me again about the appointment and to be there on time. I arrived at the shop earlier than the appointment time. Then my vehicle sat in the parking lot for an hour and fifteen minutes. At that time I asked the receptionist what was happening and mentioned how many messages I received asking me to there on time. Then I believe it was the Manager who told me they were short handed and I would be up next but couldn't say when that would be. She was apologetic but I had an appointment I needed to get to myself, so we rescheduled for the following day first thing in the morning which was Monday. I arrived before my 8am appointment and my vehicle was taken into the shop shortly there after. Then over two hours later I notice my vehicle in the parking lot, after 15 minutes I approached the receptionist to question about the status of my vehicle. She responded with "the technician has to bring her the key to be released. Then the technician came out and explained he mistakenly replaced the whole windshield again and completed the recalibration, that's why it had taken so long. He stated he hadn't been told it was just a recalibration. I know the technicians receive a work order with the keys in a transparent plastic envelope so I'm not sure how this could happen. But I would say their communication needs to be significantly improved with each other and the custumers.
