SAFELITE AUTOGLASS - AKRON,OH (06242) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 1296.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from friendly staff, quick repair I initially had a chip repaired, but later had to replace the windshield due to lease terms for my vehicle. I had 3 technicians throughout my experiences and they were friendly. The repairs were timely and I had no issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Work Safelite was recommended to me by my insurance for my cracked windshield. The initial call with them was great and the gentleman that set up the appointment was very friendly and helpful. However, when they came to replace my windshield, they were not able to do the job because of rust on the pinch weld under the window. I was told I'd have to take my car to a body shop, call safelite to remove the window there, have the body shop repair the rust, and then call safelite to come back and install the new windshield. I was ok with this, but the scheduling became a hassle. After I set it up with the body shop, I called safelite to reschedule the appointment and was told I had to contact the local safelite shop that was doing the work to set this up do to the removal and installation being two separate visits. Neither of the two numbers they gave me for the local safelite shop worked so I had to call the main number on the website (even the number listed on the website for the local shop took be to a generic safelite representative, not the local shop) and be transferred to the local shop. I finally got it scheduled and my car dropped off at the body shop, but was not happy with the communication or quality of work from there out. I did get emails with the technician profile and the 5 hour time frame they were expecting to come , but never got the promised text when they were on the way and no phone call or text when they were finished. Eventually, the body shop called to tell me safelite was done and I could pick up my car. However, when I arrived to get it, the body shop owner was in the process of trying to install a nut that holds the wiper arm on as apparently one of the safelite technicians couldn't find one when he was putting everything back together. The body shop had ordered a new nut, but it would not go on as the threads on the wiper arm were damaged. I think this could have been a pre-existing condition and perhaps the nut was never there but, in that case - the technician should have called to inform me of that when he was taking it apart. Also, most of the plastic clips were missing that hold on the rubber seal at the top of the engine compartment and all the clips were missing that hold on the plastic splash guard under the wipers. Also, there were a few scrapes in the paint around the windshield. To be fair, those could be from the body shop who also did work in that area, but I would like to think if it had been them that scratched the paint, they'd fix it since that's what they do. Safelite was highly recommended to me and I've heard good things about them from others so I believe and hope that my experience was abnormal for them. However, based on my experience, I don't think I can recommend safelite to others. I am in the process of trying to contact safelite about all of this, but as I said earlier, I can find no way to directly contact the safelite shop that did the work so once again it becomes a hassle even to give them feedback.
