Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wouldn't use them again I had a bad experience with Safelite, however I am giving them 2 stars instead of one because they did make effort, after much arguing, to make it right. I scheduled a service to fix a .5" small crack in my upper right portion of my windshield. The person that came out to fix it created a crack that was approximates 2-3ft in length. When I asked what the procedure is for fixing it he told me they don't and that my windshield was considered cracked when he got there and that he was trying to save it. He said he assumed since I used them before (which I said was over 10 years ago) that I "should know" stuff like this happens. Which I didn't. I don't know anything about auto glass. He was young, rude, and somehow making this my fault, resulting in a full payment by me for a new windshield because through insurance, I had a 1000 deductible. There was no way I am paying for this myself, had I known this could have happened I wouldn't have even scheduled a tiny crack in the upper blue portion right side of my windshield, not in the field of vision of either rider, to be fixed. I called to speak to a manager, who was unavailable, but the customer service person said he would get me taken care of. He said they don't normally do this, and that the serviceman should have had me sign papers about risk, and that they would take care of a free windshield and he would put it in as a technician error. Ok sounds great, however I am leaving on vacation in a couple days and a 20hr ride in this car and need a windshield asap. Ok we will come out on Monday to fix it at your job. Great! Monday comes, two guys show up to replace and try to charge me $600. I explained that it should be free and they said no, and spent another 20 minutes with me standing outside of work waiting on him to call the office. They said "its a cash job, sorry." Long story short, whoever said they would fix it didn't put it in correctly or something so they wouldn't touch the windshield. I asked to go back into work until they reached an answer, I came back outside after some time and they were gone. So, I spent my lunch driving over to the Kettering store and spoke to Derrick the manager who proceeded to tell me that he has no idea who I called, and that he is unfamiliar with calls that go through the call center and that I would have to wait 24 hours for an investigation on the recorded call so they could figure out who I talked to. What? I said "thats not my problem". I don't know that when I google the closest safelite and hit "call" that its a call center in Arizona and I don't have 24 hours to wait I am leaving for vacation! He did try to go back and forth with me and have me pay for the windshield but I continued to fight. He then said I will make sure to get you in the schedule for tomorrow morning, which was nice, because I was leaving the following day for vacation, but THEN said, "and then I will figure out if I need to bill you or our call center." Huh? First, I am NOT paying for this and second, you can bill your call center? So, when I told him to go ahead and bill me and I would take them to small claims, he then said he would take care of it. The next morning, a guy showed up with a free windshield and free replacement windshield wipers, and was very pleasant. This was a horrible experience and shows inconsistencies between stores and call centers, and the amount of TIME I spent trying to get this fixed was just ridiculous. However, they did make it right in the end. They have lost a customer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trying to get a quote Seriously what is the point of giving all of your information to the automated computer, then when a human DOES answer you have to give it all again, what is the point ? And first the "small disposal fee" is included then it is not, taxes are included then not, "so when would you like to schedule this work to be done" NOT JUST TRYING TO GET A QUOTE
