I contacted Safelite to repair a chip on our vehicle that was smaller than a dime. The technician arrived to address the chip. However during the repair process the window cracked from the chip. Now we are faced with the need to replace the entire window. I inquired with the technician about the reason for the split from the chip and he explained that the window was too warm and had not cooled down sufficiently for the repair. He recommended that I reach out to the Safelite manager or my insurance company. I then spoke with a Safelite representative who informed me that there is a risk of the chip cracking further while the technician is working on it and that they are not liable for any resulting damages it is the owner's responsibility to replace the window. Consequently I now have to incur additional costs to replace my front window. 😩
