Business First of Columbus Corporate Caring Awards honor for-profit companies for their financial contributions, volunteer and board service and other unique contributions to Columbus' charities and nonprofit organizations. Safelite AutoGlass is routinely ranked as a finalist (2009-2015), and past Corporate Caring awards include:

  • 2012 Education award
  • 2008 Arts award
  • 2001 Health and Human Services award

“We thank Business First and the judges for this honor,” said Randy Randolph, the chairman of the Safelite AutoGlass Foundation. “It’s important to shine a light on corporate philanthropy and more importantly, our people, who make it all possible. In fact, people are our true passion, and we strive to support organizations that promote the health and well-being of families.”

In 2014, the Safelite AutoGlass Foundation awarded $400,000 in Impact Grants to 14 separate Columbus-area non-profit groups, each receiving $25,000 or more, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, Children’s Hunger Alliance, Community Shelter Board, the Mid-Ohio FoodBank, and more.

In a letter of support for the award, Lutheran Social Services CEO Larry Crowell shared, “Safelite AutoGlass is one of our area’s top philanthropic companies with a strong corporate citizenship program… Safelite has built a culture of caring throughout the organization.”

Safelite’s “giving back” approach is a 1-2-3 philosophy:

  1. Safelite Group donates 1% of its annual trading profit to the Safelite AutoGlass Foundation.
  2. Safelite encourages its employees to give 2% of their time to volunteer in their community. That includes 16 hours of paid time off the company allows every employee for volunteer work in addition to 24 hours of their personal time for a total of 40 hours per employee, which equals 2% of the average hours in a “work year.”
  3. Safelite holds 3 annual charitable fundraisers
