Called the police and got a report. The officer said it was ok to drive a short distance so I located the nearest Lincoln Dealer and went there. They did not do glass but said I could leave my car with them and call for remote glass repair. After a few hours with my insurance company and Safelite I had authorized and scheduled the repair. The accident occurred on a Thursday afternoon at about 2:00pm, but I could not get the repair scheduled until Monday morning! Very disappointed as I was on the road away from home! The Lakeview Ford dealership could not have been more accommodating as they gave us a ride to the Casino to get my friends car and we continued to Chicago. We added an extra day to the trip since my car was not going to be ready till Monday. Was given a time frame of 8-12 Monday, arrived at the dealership at 8am. The Safelite tech called me around 9am and said he had two priority appointments before mine and said he would come between 11-12. I asked what was a “priority “ appointment? Why wasn’t I a priority? He said that they paid extra to go to the top of the list. Wow what a way to run a business! I question the ethics of this practice but even so was not given the option. My technician arrived at 1:00pm and completed my job by 3:00pm. I was at the dealership from 8am- 3:00pm. He apologized for the delay and put on some free wipers (which I didn’t need) Said he vacuumed but that I would need to get it detailed.
