Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Service at Westbury! The whole staff of this shop is outstanding. The girl at the front desk got my car into the shop very quickly. The technician did a great job replacing the windshield and the job was completed within the time frame expected. The manager was terrific and explained all the safety and warranty information in the booklet. All in all, a great experience at Safelite AutoGlass in Westbury!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wrong windshield I'll start with the good. I called, the people on the phone were helpful and friendly. I place an order and then had to call back later in the day to amend what windshield I needed and they were able to do that. The technician came to the house, he was pleasant, in the timed window given, and basically got right to work. He asked me how I was paying and gave me the bill breakdown. I told him I was calling my insurance but I would give him my credit card if there were any issues. I got a claim number and gave it to him and everything was taken care of. He finished up, gave me the rundown of the dos and don'ts and left. Shortly after I went out to the car to inspect and realized that the windshield I had ordered was not the type of windshield put in place. Now for the bad. I called and spoke to a customer service rep, I informed him of the windshield I was expecting, a windshield with a heated wiper park, he confirmed that is what should have been put in, then transferred me to your warranty department. The woman on the phone proceeded to tell me that I didn't get that windshield because my insurance would have needed to pre approve me for a more expensive windshield. Which I can understand, but when I asked why wasn't that told to me while I was on the phone ordering said windshield the answer was we don't ask that question: 1. Why should it matter whether I got permission from my insurance to spend whatever I needed to replace my windshield? 2. The technician had no idea I was using insurance and was ready to bill me at the door. So what difference does it matter if I want to spend more money on a windshield or not? I ordered a windshield. You confirmed that is what I was supposed to get. I didn't get what I ordered. And then I was told that was somehow my fault. I was told that the windshield I got is what you have on hand and what you put in unless there is some pre approval for a more expensive windshield. To which I say I can understand that logic, but then why ask me what windshield I want? Why not explain unless I get pre approval we can only give you a standard one? But then I go back on that logic because, again, you were ready to bill me at the door. So what does it matter if I wish to spend more money or not? Lastly, it's a leased car, so I have no idea what kind of trouble they are going to give me when I go to return the car. I firmly believe I was given a runaround to make up for some mistake on your part and I am the one paying for it. Everything about my experience with you, from the original calls, to the tech coming to the house and working quickly and efficiently, was truly great. If my windshield cracked again I would use you again. I just want some sort of reasonable explanation as to how I order something, you put something different in, and that is somehow my fault and I have to be the one to jump through hoops to correct it? At least now I know all of the questions I need to ask you first and also know to check what the tech is installing.
