Howard, the repair process is an attempt to save the integrity of the glass. At times the repair may still be visible depending on the size (width and depth) of the chip. If at any time the repair spreads and or you are unhappy with the repair; the paying party will be reimbursed the full repair amount, if you paid for the repair out of pocket, that amount will be credited toward the full replacement of your windshield. Caught a rock with the windshield of my Lexus RX450H. Requested my Safelite location replace the windshield with an OEM windshield. The lady said "No Problem. " Scheduled my installation for the next week. Installer was waiting on me when I arrived. I was called about 2 hours or so later and was informed my vehicle was ready to pick up. Really quick service - and the only noticeable difference is the new "Lexus" windshield doesn't have the rock chip in it. I highly recommend the Safelite location in Florence, Kentucky for their professionalism and willingness to work with me.
