Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortunate Service I scheduled an appointment in the beginning of March to get my windshield replaced and was called a week later and told my windshield came in damaged. I was understanding and rescheduled. I went to my new appointment and sat in a waiting room for nearly two hours while my windshield was being replaced, only for the installer to tell me AFTER completely installing this windshield that it was also damaged having three large scratches in my line of vision. He offered either a full refund or a rescheduled appointment. I rescheduled for the third time. I went to my final appointment and sat in the waiting room again for quite awhile only for the installer to tell me that the third windshield also had a scratch in it. He installed it anyway. This time, he only offered me a partial discount, and because I’m understanding, I accepted this partial payment. I left the shop only having to return moments later once I realized the installer forgot to put my antenna back on. Finally, after driving off and constantly looking at the scratch in my damaged windshield that I only got a partial refund on and terrible service, I realized that I deserved a full refund. I contacted customer service and spoke with a woman named Diane. She was unable to resolve my issue at first and took a few days to get back to me. After nearly a week, I received a release of liability form for a full refund of the wrong amount. She had subtracted my partial discount from the remaining amount paid instead of the original amount. I had to inform her of my total amount paid and wait for another release of liability, which I received days later. She gave me no instructions on how I should turn in this paper work; email, fax, or mail. So I signed it, scanned it, and sent her the file. Days later she responded and said that she would turn in my paperwork and I would receive my refund. After a week with no updates, I emailed her and she told me there was another error and that after she fixed it, it would be 3 to 5 business days. I finally received my refund today after over a month long process today. This entire situation was unfortunate and should not have to happen to a customer. My suggestions aren’t really suggestions because a windshield replacement company should already assure that the windshield arrives to the shop undamaged. Also, the refund process should be more streamlined and better explained to customers. I will not be using Safelite in the future. I hope you can assure that these things don’t happen to another customer.
