It took over 2 months for my windshield to get replaced. The first attempt didn't work because the technician didn't have the right windshield in his truck. I thought this was pretty poor planning, after all, technicians should have all the information they need from the insurance claim.
The 2nd attempt I told the new technician ahead of time to make sure the windshield would fit before removing my old one. Technician #1 had told me there were 2 windshield models made for my vehicle in 2017. I went back to work and 20 minutes later I got a phone call from technician #2 saying that he didn't have the right windshield AND that he had removed mine before realizing it!!! He actually asked me if he should put my old one back in, like I had any choice!
So after some investigation on MY part, the only windshield that was going to fit in my vehicle was an OEM windshield. So did Safelite know this and tried the aftermarket products anyway to try and save themselves money? I don't know, but I do know that it was a huge inconvenience for me the customer.
The third attempt was finally successful, after I fought for over a month to get the OEM product approved through the insurance company. If I didn't do all of the groundwork, I am sure I would still have a cracked windshield. Safelite was not helpful in straightening out the problem of getting the OEM product approved.
Very disappointing service on so many levels.
