Unnecessarily delayed the replacement of my glass (took 3-4 days)
They used aftermarket glass without notification.
They failed to clean the broken glass from the vehicle.
I was told that I would have to bring my vehicle to one of their centers to get the glass replaced, that they couldn't repair it unless it was brought to them.
The person they sent out was disrespectful, argumentative, and made no effort to hide the fact that he believes women are stupid. He was irritated, impatient, and explained repeatedly why he is better than anyone else. He told me that he expected me to call his supervisor after he left, which, if I thought I could actually reach him, I would have.
The repair itself was done poorly. It was a rear glass repair on a minivan. My back wiper was damaged and needs to be replaced (inoperable now). The paint on the vehicle was damaged. When I asked about what happened, the technician said he had to put primer on the lip of the back door and that "if I knew anything" I'd understand that it "just wipes off." Actually, when he tried to wipe it off to show me, it damaged the clearcoat, which now needs to be repainted across the entire back door. The liftgate has been shifted due to his pulling on it during the installation and now rubs the bumper when closing. This caused it to open while I was driving since it does not close securely/latch anymore.
There are many other reasons why I will never use Winchester Safelite again. I hope this review saves others from going through the hassles we experienced and the problems we have had with their repair. It definitely is not a happy, easy, prompt, well-done service like you see in their commercials!
